It's a long way out to Dillingham Field at the Kaena Point end of the North Shore, but the memory of acrobatics in an open cockpit biplane will last a lot longer than the memory of the $175 each price tag. This is, of course for thrill seekers with strong stomachs and morning flights offer calmer air and better visibility.
The gentle option here is an airplane ride that's quiet and offers an video option. Flights run about 30 minutes with one passenger ($90) or 20 with two at $130. No reservations, but call 808-677-1404 and stop for a treat in Haleiwa on the way back, or side trip to Sunset Beach to watch the surfers.
